This project explores the relationship between body, territory, and identity through the projection of the mountains of La Paz onto the back of a naked body.
The mountains surrounding the city are much more than a landscape. For those of us who were born and raised in La Paz, they are part of our memory, our identity, and our way of inhabiting the world. They are presences that accompany us, watch over us, and protect us.
By projecting them onto the body, the work proposes a symbolic image of territory inscribed on the skin: the mountains cease to be a distant horizon and become an extension of the body itself, as if we carried with us the entities that safeguard the city.
