WANDERERS

Errantes is an interdisciplinary project that works with animation and the illusion of movement, displacing it to the urban context. City and animated image are the working materials of this public art proposal, which operates at the boundary between new media and analog techniques, social context, and urban intervention.

This project consists of an archive of specially created animated images that are subsequently digitized, generating digital sequences manipulated in real time. On the one hand, the project appropriates existing urban visual memory; on the other, it generates a range of animated loops whose content is a collection of animals representing a possible symbolic urban bestiary. This bestiary draws on pre-Hispanic cosmogony and pantheon to unfold an updated cosmogony within the urban context. The moving (animated) image emerges by reviving the practice of stenciling, reinterpreted using the working techniques specific to moving images. Immediate and mobile, the project proposes the exploration of interactive narratives between the city, passersby, and visual content. The projections will offer passersby the opportunity to experience the projection live, feeling like active participants in the project.

City and Animated Image are the work materials of this public art proposal that moves along the border between new media and analog techniques, social context and urban intervention.

This project is constituted by an archive of animated images expressly that are subsequently digitized, generating digital sequences intervened in real time. The project, on the one hand, appropriates the existing urban visual memory, on the other it generates an animated loop fan whose content is a set of animals that represent a possible symbolic urban bestiary that takes up the cosmogony and the PRE-Hispanic pantheon to display an updated cosmogony in the context of the city. Where the image in motion (animated) arises recovering the practice of stencil, reinterpreted under the work techniques of the image in motion. With immediate and mobile action, the project proposes the exploitation of interactive narratives between city, passerby and visual content. The projections will provide the possibility for passers-by to live the projection experience live, feeling an active part of the project.
